Chattbir Zoo was started on 1977 and is situated in Zirakpur 17 km away from Chandigarh. It is spread over 202 acres on the banks of the Ghaggar River. It is one of the famous tourist destination in Punjab. The zoo has around 950 animals of different types. You can see many animals are born in this zoo. The zoo has Restaurant, Canteen, Ice Cream Parlour for refreshments. You can carry cameras but you have to pay the charge Rs. 60.
Timings
9.00 AM to 5.00 PM. It is closed on Monday and National Holidays.

Rs. 15 for adults, Rs. 5 for children
Attractions
The major attraction of the zoo is the lion safari and Royal Bengal tiger. The second most famous attraction is white deer, Himalayan Black Bear and the Asiatic Lion reserves.
