Arignar Anna Zoological Park was opened in the year 1985 and famously known as Vandalur Zoo. It is the largest zoological garden in India and spread over 1,490 acres of land. It is at a distance of 31km and affiliated to Central Zoo Authority of India. The zoo is the house of 1,657 species including mammals, birds, reptiles, fish. The zoo provides many facilities to the visitors like battery operated vans, rental bicycles, e-bike, lion safari van and also has an ice cream parlour, snack bar and a soft drinks counter. There is also an guest house near Kelambakkam Road for visitors. Approx eighty thousand visitors visit the zoo annually.

In this zoo there are various attraction which can be enjoyed like Deer safari park, Shark model Aquarium, Lion safari. You can enjoy the Cave model water fall entrance by walking through the cave. There is a beautiful butterfly house which is built at a cost of Rs. 6 million and has a vast collection of different butterflies like crimson rose, mottled emigrant, blue tiger, evening brown and lime butterfly. The zoo also has a Shark Shape Aquarium.
