Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve was established in the year 1988 and it is situated in Southern Western Ghats in Tirunelveli. There are 3 waterfalls which attract lakhs of tourists every year. There is also a tiger cottage for visitors which has a rest room and a few double deckered beds.

Attractions
The reserve has 150 endemic plants, 33 fish, 37 amphibian, 81 reptile, 273 bird and 77 mammal species. The major attraction of the reserve is Tigers, Leopards, Jungle Cats, Wild Dogs, Stripe necked mangoose.
