Introduction- Salman Khan has often been referred to as the Bad boy in Bollywood. Yet what continues to stay is the image of this bad boy with heart of Gold and the performances on the silver screen that continues to place him amongst the best in the Industry. The man is filled with charisma and talent and most of all DNA that is ingeniously built to enthrall audiences. Thus a Salman film is recognizable in all aspects and verbally asserted by the star himself,

Salman Khan’s early life and Family - Salman Khan was born to Salim and Salima Khan on 26th December, 1965 at Indore in Madhya Pradesh. His paternal grandfather was Afghani by decent. His father Salim Khan is a noted script writer who scripted who penned some of the classic screen plays in Bollywood that include Don (1978), Sholay (1975) and Dewaar (1975). His siblinsg Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan are both producers. His family can well be called a family without any borders as his relatives come from various decents. His mother was a Marathi Hindu and his Step Mother Helen is a former actress who is from Anglo Indian decent. He also has two sisters Arpita and Elvira. He attended St. Stanislaus School in Bandra- (west).
Salman’s Khan Film Career- Despite being the son of India's premiere screen writer, Salman Khan started his career the hard way. He auditioned for his roles much like any beginner in the industry. He made his debut with his first film Biwi ho toh Aise that hit theatres in the summer of 1988. Salman Khan essayed a supporting role in the movie. However a year later Salman hit success in the Box office with romantic hit Maine Pyaar Kiya in 1989. From there on Salman Khan career has seen no turning back and he has become the heart throb of not only Bollywood but the whole industry.
From then he followed his performances with a string of hits that include Saajan (1991), Andaaz Apna Apna (1994), Karanarjun (1995), Khamoshi: the musical. His performances have truly asserted him as a complete actor fitting all genres of action, romance and comedy. However Salman Khan has been type casted more in action and comedy roles. Most of all he has been able to stamp his authority as a quality performer with ease. The years following 1998 were not that significant as he was not able to make a considerable mark with his performances and his career was marred with controversies like the Black buck case and illegal possession of arms. In September of 2002 Salman Khan rammed his land cruiser into the American express Bakery in the process killing one and injuring another.
However despite his troubled times he returned to the silver screen with an emotional hit Teere Nam a remake of the same director Tamil film “Seethu” starring Vikram. Salman stamped his supremacy with an outstanding performance. However he continued to make an impact with his performances with Phir Milenge (2004). In this period he starred with stellar performances in Salam-e- Ishq (2007) and Marigold. Comedies in this period like No entry and Maine Pyaar kiya did well in the box office.
However Salman struck gold in the year 2009 that was the year he debuted as a TV presenter with Dus Ka Dam that broke TRP ratings and then on Salman has made an array of successful films that continues even to this day. This includes Wanted (2009), Dabaang and Ready (2010), Bodyguard (2011) and finally his latest fil Ek Tha Tiger that is now officially the second Highest grossing film in the Indian industry. Thus making him one of the first actors in Bollywood in recent times to record three consecutive films that grossed the 100 crore mark and he has been riding on the success.
Salman Khan Upcoming Films- Salman’s Khan’s upcoming films include Ishq in Paris (2013)and the sequel Dabaang-2 that are all expected to release in 2012 and he is also set to make cameo appearance in Ajay Devagan Starrer Son of Sardar. Apart from that Salman Khan to lend his voice for the character Prem in the animated flick Andaaz Naya Naya (2013) and Sheer Khan.
Salman Khan’s Foundation- Salman’s Khan’s Foundation “Being Human” and Non Government Organization, that sells tea shirts and products online thus providing for the underprivileged and supporting their cause in the best possible manner. In the early days of the foundation , Salman khan sponsored all expenses from his own personal account. The main intention of his foundation is to provide the educational and healthcare needs. His foundation has also been engaged in increase the reach and corpus of the Foundation, Salman Khan has undertaken initiatives such as Being Human Art; Being Human merchandise; and Being Human Gitanjali Gold Coins.

In an interview he said that he has been quietly suffering it for the past seven years, but now the pain’s become unbearable. It has even affected his voice, making it much harsh.

He also faces charges of drunk driving and not having a valid licence. If convicted, he could be jailed for up to 10 years. Apart form that after the 2009 terrorist attacks he was stated in an interview that the attack at the Taj garnered so much popular interest because it was an attack on the elite. His brash behavior, outspokenness and his rivalry with SRK has been debated.
