Saif Ali Khan is better known for his contributions as an actor. There have always been credulous doubts about the actor in Saif Ali Khan. After his initial and almost disastrous outings in the box office it became virtually impossible for the star to sustain. However the actor was certainly destined for better and more improved performances in the box office. Today he is one of the most sort after actors and at the same time is considered as actor with the perfect dexterity to handles roles at any lengths.
Saif Ali Khan Early Life and Family- Anwar Saif Ali Khan Pataudi or as he is called was born into the lineage a Nawab of Pataudi. His father gave up the title of Pataudi when he was just about a year old as per the dictum. His mother Sharmila Tagore belonged to the Bengali Tagore family. His father was a professional cricketer and was the youngest test captain of the Indian team. His mother was a distinguished actress and now serves as the chairperson of the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC). She is a Hindu by birth and Nephew of Rabindranath Tagore. Before her marriage she converted in to the Islam and was renamed Begum Ayesha Sultana. Hence Saif Ali Khan has always mentioned that religion played an important role in his life.
The actor attended St. Lawrence and therefore attended the Lockers Park School in Hertfordshire and followed his father the Nawab of Pataudi footsteps and attended Winchester College. Before he could embark on his acting career he married actress Amrita Singh after 14 years of marriage and two children the couple filed for divorce. Amrita Singh has been given custody of children. He later dated Rose Catalano and they were preparing for marriage and the plans were shelved and Rose stated that she came to known of Saif marriage and divorce. Khan has been dating his Kareena Kapoor. In an open interview the actor stated that the marriage would consider marriage only as stamp of public validation.
Saif Ali Khan’s Film Career- Saif Ali Khan Film career stated with the film Parampara in 1992 however he wasn’t able to make a considerable impact with his family. His breakthrough role with Yeh Dillagi with Akshay Kumar and he had success only with multistarrer films and failed to be considerable impact with his films as a lead actor and there was very little to write about in the first years of his career and the whole decade. The only exception being the Imtihaan(1995),Kachche Dhaage (1999) and Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United (1999). He however made an impact with the Farhan Akthar directed Dil Chaata Hai that sparked a trend in the film industry and gave the actor his first big break in the film industry. Saif essayed the role of an affluent youth. The film was a moderate hit as it did well in the urban areas but did not do business in rural areas.
He followed it with another hit in Nikhil Adavani’s Kal Ho Na ho . Though the lead role played by Shah Rukh was much appreciated the actor acted his supporting character in the best possible manner. Then Saif Ali Khan experienced a transformation in his career and from a supporting cast was considered for the lead role. Khan’s film Hum Tum and where he started as a cartoonist was an instant hit among the audiences. Saif Ali Khan also starred in Pradeep Sarkar’s Parineeta that was both a commercially and critically acclaimed. He was selected to play the role of Male central character in Sarkar but quickly declined the same. His next film Salaam Namaste also did well at the box office. His next film Being Cyrus opened to positive review and was critically acclaimed. His other films like Eeklavya, Tara rum Pam Pam which did well in terms of indices.
Another benchmark in his career came with Race where he stood out in terms of performances. In 20096 the actor branched out in to production with Illuminati films. His romantic comedy Love Aaj Kal did well at the box office. However his mainline Yash Raj films like Tashan, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic and Roadside Romeo did miserably. His film like Agent Vinod too which was expected to do well opened to positive reviews and eventually bombed. However always he made a considerable impact with films like Aarakshan and Cocktail that did well and was accepted.
Saif Ali Khan Upcoming movies- Saif Ali Khan’s upcoming movies include the Race 2 which is the sequel of his family Race and is expected to do well and expectations are heavily riding on the Nawab and his film. His films include Judwaa 2 and Two states and as far as the Nawab is concerned he has films lined up till 2013.
