Prithviraj within a decade has been a notable part of South Indian cinema.  His wonderful and distinctive performances have been sole reason for his success.  Known for his repertoire and firm understanding of cinema the actor experimented with characterizations in the best possible manner in mainstream as well as artistic films.

Prithviraj Early Life- Prithviraj is the younger son of popular Malayalam movie actors Sukumaran and Mallika Sukumaran. His brother is also a popular actor Indrajith.  The actor attended his initial schooling at St. Mary High School Poojapura. IN school itself he has developed a keen affinity towards acting and performed in various stages. He did his schooling at Sainik School, Thiruvananthapuram and Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan School. In the school level itself he actively participated in elocutions and debates. He did his degree course in IT from the University of Tasmania, Australia.

Prithviraj Film Career- Prithviraj returned to India after taking a break from his studies and was offered a role in his movie. The actor was introduced to the director Ranjith by another Director Fazil. He was introduced to the director as Sukumaran’s son. The actor stated that it was in the name of his father that he got his first role however his other film roles came as a result of the hardwork. Prithviraj first Film was a hit at the box office and the actor went on to work opposite mainstream directors in Malayalam that include Lohitadas, Vinayan and Bhadran. Prithviraj had consolidated him as the young superstars of the industry on the basis of his talent and intelligence .2006 was a good years as far as the star was concerned he acted in Films  Vargam and Classmates that were both hits at the boix office and received critical acclaim. While the first movie was more Critical claimed the second movie was a hit especially among the young audiences.   The actor fetched the Kerala State Award and became the youngest actor to do so. 

He followed this success with a  film Chocolate which was a hit at the box office. Thalappavu was critically acclaimed and the critics named it as one of his best performances. His next Thirakatta was also accepted critics acclaimed the ingenious efforts to hold the attention of the audience till the end.  The actor’s film Puthiya Mugham relased in  2009 and the print media anointed him as Superstar.  He then to star in a string of hit films like Robin hood (2009) , Pokhriraja(2010) with Mammotty and critically and commercially acclaimed film Indian Ruppee (2011). He started of acting in Tamil films with Kana Kandaen in 2006, some of his notewothy films in Tamil are Parijatham (2005), Ravanan (2010) and in 2007, Mozhi.

His film, ‘Police Police’ in 2010 was his first Telugu film along with Sanjana, Shrikant and Kamalini Mukherjee. He took the producer’s seat establishing his company, August Cinema, which produced movies like: Urmi (2011) and the National Award Winning film, Indian Rupee (2011). The actor’s major releases this year include Masters, Hero and Simhasanam along with cameo roles in Bachelor Party, Aakashathinte Niram and the critically acclaimed Manjadikuru. The actor made his debut with the Hindi film Aiyyaa alongside Rani Mukherjee.

Prithviraj Upcoming Movies- The actor has a number of upcoming movies lined up. Firstly the actor has been signed up by YashRaj Films to play a pivotal role in the film Aurangzeb. His other commitments in Malayalam include Celluloid, multistarrer D Company, Arivaal Chuttika Nakshatram and Mumbai Poilce.

Prithviraj Personal Life- The actor has been very low key as far as his personal life is concerned. Even his wedding was a private affair and the media were informed about the marriage only at the last moment. The actor is married to BBC India reporter Supriya Menon.

I want to give more time to Hindi films: Prithvi
The actor expressed that he wants to devote more of his time to Hindi films. However he said he would continue to do roles in the south as well.  Presently the actor signed his second film Aurangzeb. "All the films that I have signed or I intend to sign are purely on the basis of merit of what the films are about. As long as interesting work will find me, I will love to do more Bollywood films. The actor said in a report to a leading Mumbai daily.
