A descendant of the first family of Bollywood Kareena Kapoor does no need introductions. With different roles in her career the actress has virtually cemented her positions as one of the most versatile and bankable A list actress at the box office.

Kareena Kapoor Early life- Kareena Kapoor was born to Randhir and Baboita Kapoor on the 21st of September 1980 in Mumbai. Her family has been deeply rooted in the Bollywood film industry. From her father side her great grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor, Grandfather Raj Kapoor her paternal uncle Shammi, Shashi, Rishi and Rajiv are all actor including her father. Her aunties Neetu Singh and Jennifer Kendall have also been actresses. Her mother family also has been inclined to films her Hari Shivdasani, and aunt, Sadhana, have been actors in their own rights. Kareena was named after a Russian Novel of Tolstoy Anna Karienna.

As a child itself Kareena was deeply inspired by the likes of Nargis and Meera Kumari. She would often dress up and perform in front of the mirror. Kapoor attended Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai, followed by Welham Girls School (a boarding school) in Dehradun. She recalls that her days at the boarding school were one of the best and her helped tremendously in forming a perspective about life. After completing her education she enrolled in Mithibhai College.

Kapoor then registered for a three-month summer course in microcomputers at Harvard University in the United States. After this she had a keen affinity towards Law and enrolled at the Government Law College at Churchgate. However after completing one year at college she gave her plan of studying law and enrolled at   Kishore Namit Kapoor acting School.

Kareena Kappor Film Career- Kareena Kapoor started her film career with the movie Refugee (2000). The film did not do well at the box office; however the actress’ performance was noticed. This film landed her in her second role in Karan Johar’s multistarrer Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001) which gave her acclaimed and was a hit at the box office. However her films like Mujhse Kuch Kehna Hai, Yaddein, Ajnabee and Asoka, which all released in the same year performed fared averagely at the box office. The years 2002- 2003 is considered as years of setbacks as all the (Mujhse Dosti Karoge! Jeena Sirf Merre Liye, Talaash: The Hunt Begins…, Khushi, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, and LOC Kargil) did not did enough to consolidate her as an actress and the films failed to rake collections at the box office. Friends Forever did averagely at the box office but she was appreciated for her performance in and Chamlei and Hulchul and Bewafaa. However 2006 was a better year and her films like 36 China Town, Chup Chup Ke, and Omkara and did a cameo appearance in Don – The Chase Begins Again. Her portrayal of Dolly (based on Desdemona, from the Shakespearean play, Othello) received rave critical review. However Jab We meet starring Shahid Kappor was the turning point in her career and she played the role of a Sikhni to full perfection and this was the cause of her success and mass fan following. Her film Tashan also did not do well at the box office. Roadside Romeo, an animated movie from Yash Raj and Walt Disney Pictures had her lending her voice to the character of Laila.

Kambakkht Ishq and Main Aurr Mrs Khanna both 2009 releases did not do so well. Kurbaan did critically well but the film fared badly. However 3 Idiots did well at the box office and she was appreciated for her performance.  The films We Are Family (2010) and the much stalled Milenge Milenge fared averagely at the box office. She received successes with the movies in the Golmaal Series that include Golmaal Returns (2008) and Golmaal Unlimited 3 (2008). In 2011 she became the first leading lady to star opposite the two Khans, Shah Rukh and Salman.

While Ra one did not do well at the box office in India, Bodyguard scored as the largest blockbuster hit of the year. In 2012 the Kareena is yet to score a hit in the box office her film like Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu with Imran Khan, Agent Vinod opposite her Beau Saif Ali Khan and Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine have not made an impact. Neither her performance nor the film could favor the indices and reviews.

Kareena Kapoor latest movies- The actress is experiencing a lean patch in her career with three of her films faring badly at the box office. The actresses is set to be seen next movies is Taalash that is slated for release on November 30th 2012.She stars alongside Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherjee. She is also slated to make a appearance in  Salman Khan’s Much Awaited Dabaang 2 where she is set to appear in an item dance. She is also part of Satyagraha that is said still in the pre- production.
