Anushka Sharma would have never been the film star that she is today. The reason being she wanted to pursue a career in modeling rather than films. She however was able to do justice to the roles that she essayed with perfect understanding and prompt rendition. Apart from her acting skills she has also proved her bankability in advertisements.

Anushka Sharma Early Life- Anushka Sharma was born to Col Ajay Kumar Sharma and Ashima Sharma on the 1st of May, 1988 in Bangalore. Both her parents are from Uttarkhand. Her elder brother Karmesh was a state level Cricketer and now serves in the Merchant Navy. She attended Army school and completed her college from the Mount Carmel College at Bangalore. After completing her studies she left for Mumbai to become a model.  Another fact that is lesser known is that Anushka got herself enrolled in Elite Modeling Agency, where she was groomed by renowned style consultant Prasad Bidapa, who met her when she was just 13.

Anushka Sharma Film Career- She aspired to make it big in the world of modeling. She had no inclinations of becoming an actress. She began a modeling career with the Lakme Fashion Week as a model for Wendell Rodricks Les Vamp collection. She was also picked up the designer as a model in the Spring Summer 2007 Collection. However she selected by Yash Raj Films and thus landed with a three film contract. There was a lot of speculation about the new actress and it was never an easy task specially her first film alongside Shah Rukh Khan. However her debut Film Rab Ne Bana de Jodi (2008) was a commercial success and she was also appreciated for her performance in the movie.

Despite sharing screen with Shah Rukh Khan she made a mark for herself delivering a consistent and note able performance. Her next film Baadmash company with the same banner in 2009 was an example of her characterization and breaking the shell from a conservative homely Taani to a feisty and brash Bulbul. She completed her contract of three films with Yash Raj Film, Band Baaja Baaraat, directed by Maneesh Sharma and co-starring debutant Ranveer Singh.

The film was a hit among the audience. Her first film outside the Yash Raj Banner Patiala House was accepted well at the box office and she was appreciated for her different character. In her next she took her knack for characterization further with the negative role in Ladies V/s Ricky Behl that fared moderately at the box office.

Anushka Sharma Upcoming movies- Her latest upcoming Films include Jab tak Hai Jaan which is slated for release on 14th November, 2012. This would be the second film of the actress with Shah Rukh Khan. Meanwhile the actress just completed shooting on Vishal Bhardwaj Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. The actress promises that this film would be a different from those she has essayed till date. Confirmed reports also suggest that she has signed Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

Anushka Controveseries- Anushka has not been free as far as controversies are concerned.  She was linked with Co actors like Shahid Kappor and Ranveer Singh. In both cases the media reported a proximity that extends beyond just mere friendship. However in the case of Ranveer Singh the actress publicly stated on record that Sonakshi Sinha can have Ranveer thus denying the whole relationship.
