Amir Khan is probably one man that is keen as far as perfection goes in his films a thinking filmmaker the actor has evolved from mainstream to create his own distinctive brands of films that offer the audience food for thought and yet is so distinctive of commercial films.  A thinking cinematic mind the actor has delivered some of his most comprehensive performance that stand out in minds to this day. Planning each step the actor has carved a distinctive identity for himself in the Hindi Film industry.

Aamir Khan’s early life and family- He was born of the 14th March,1965 at the Holy family Hospital in Bandra. His father Tahir Hussain a film producer and Nasser Hussain his uncle was a film producer and director. He is also said to be related to the great freedom fighter and educationist Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. Hence his family was part of the of the film and it was no wonder when the actor made his debut with -  Yaadon ki Barat (1975) as a child actor and 11 Years later in Ketan Mehta’s Holi in (1984) where he virtually went unnoticed.

Aamir Khan Career- Aamir Khan started his career as a child actor and made various appearances in this various films however he got synonymous more with the film and the song by the same name. As an actor Aamir Khan got his big break with the film Qayamat se Qayamat Tak (1988) and offered him a trek to stardom. So much so that the film is considered as an important classic in the Hindi filmography and his performance was given a special award for his performances. After which he did not do well in other films and his performances in the box office. However the actor bounced back with the film Dil that grossed well and was a commercial success. He started with definitive and superlative performances at the box office. He then went on to star in a host of films that include Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin (1991), Daulat Ki Jung (1992), Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander( 1992), Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke( 1993), Parampara (1993), Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Baazi( 1995), Rangeela (1995), Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995), Raja Hindustani (1996), Ishq (1997), Earth(1998), Ghulam (1998), Sarfarosh (1999) asserted him as one of the top artist along with contemporaries  Salman and Shah Rukh Khan.

The 2000’s saw a different Aamir Khan he starred in lesser films but aimed and concentrated more at perfecting the quality and output of his works.  He starred in the trending new age film Dil Chata hai and followed it up with the historic Lagaan both in the same year 2001. His second film of the year Lagaan was India’s official entry for the Academy Awards of 2002. He took brief break form cinema yet worked over the years and came up with a magical performance in Mangal Pandey. In this film also he proved his dedication as an actor and his flexibility that he bought to every character.  In 2008 he came up with  his first Commercial action film Ghajini which turned out to be the fourth highest grossing film in India cinema. However he was destined to break the parameters of box office collection and his film 3 Idiots smashed all records and became the highest grossing Indian film in the box office.  Amir Khan is considered as one of the most versatile actors the time shunning awards and popular film and critic praises.

He has set benchmarks not only through his impressive and wide range of characterizations and also marketing techniques that have placed him ahead of any other actor. It has actually prompted other stars to find new ways to effectively promote films and today it is a norm.  He also  tried his luck with Televisions and Satyameva Jayate opened to positive reviews and remained more than just an average television show.

Amir Khan‘s upcoming movies-  Aamir Khan upcoming  movies include Taalsh that sees him play an police officer and is slated for release on 30th November 2012, starring the leading ladies Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee. His other much awaited film is Dhoom 3 that sees him play the role of a villain and is slated for release in March 2013. Finally he has two film in the pipe that include Falling and Lajjo that said to release in the second quarter of 2013.

The couple had two children. On 28th December 2005, the actor married Kiran Rao who he had met on the sets of Lagaan. In 11th of December the couple announced the birth of Azad Rao Khan through a surrogate mother .

Aamir Khan as a Social Worker- Aamir Khan as a social worker has been actively involved in various causes like the Narmada Bachao Andolan and  also rendered an active support to Anna Hazare’s Anti corruption crusade and was the first actor to speak about the imposition of entertainment tax under the fiscal budget. He also played was able to generate interest  and reach out to rural India through his show Satyameva Jayate.

Aamir Khan and Satyameva Jayate- The show Satyameva Jayate was the first Indian show to be broadcasted on a wide scale on national televisions and debuted in as many as eight languages. This show was broadcasted and in a way revived the 11 am slot on Sunday. The efforts of Aamir and his team paid off and he also created a big impact on the rural audience. It was estimated that as many as 84 million Indian television viewers watched Aamir Khan’s Satyameva Jayate making it the highest watched show in India television.

The actor has been known for his personal digs at contemporaries like Shah Rukh Khan.
