Hailing from a well known family in Bollywood Abhay certainly had the backing but moreover he has exhibited impeccable character and talent that has sustained him as one of the best character actors in bollywood. The reason being he has refrained from be termed in stereotyped roles and has extended the all round prospects of characterization. A self described fan of films the actor has proved this with the rendition of his characters on screen.

Abhay Deol Early life- He was born to a Punjabi Sikh family to Ajit Singh Deol and Usha Deol. He is one a nephew of Dharamendra and his cousins are Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. After graduating from the Mumbai University and he went to Los Angeles to study and took up a course in acting before actually venturing out into Bollywood.

Abhay Deol Film career-  He was stated his film career quite early and was actively involved in theatre before making his debut in films. However he insisted that he would that he would make his debut only after completing his education. His debut film was Socha Na Tha that did considerably well at the box office. His second film Ahista Ahista in 2006. Both these films did considerably well at the box office. Early at his career itself he was able to strike a balance with different roles like Honeymoon Travels Pvt .Ltd , Ek Chalis ki Last local  and Manorama Six feet under did critically well at the box office.

His film Oye Lucky Lucky Oye. However Dev D cemented in Bollywood. The new age rendition of Devdas that followed a non linear pattern of Storytelling that won Abhay both critical acclaim and success at the box office. So much so that he was defined as the new face of emerging and evolving Indian cinema.  He also did Road movies and at the same time also created an impact with his performances. His latest film Zindagi Na Mile Dobara also did well at the box office.

Abhay Deol Upcoming movies- Abhay Deol Upcoming movies also seem to bear the distinctive feature of acting and the versatility in characterization with Chakrayuh and Singularity and  is also reported to be signed to play a supporting role for Dostana 2.

Abhay Deol Personal life- Deol has always tried to keep a low profile of his personal life. The actor is in a relationship with actress Preeti Desai who is also former a Miss Britain pagent. The actor resides in Mumbai and has residences and in Newyork. Recently the actor mentioned that he would like to stay in Goa instead of Mumbai because of the traffic and the humdrum of the city.
