Yes you have read it right Raanjhaana is a different love that does not confine itself to the corny Bollywood romance seen so often on 70mm. Rather it is a heart touching story that has a bit of nostalgia, requited love, some imagination, a bid political twist followed by a turnaround. 

 

Here are the positive and negatives of Raanjhaana.

 

Positives-

•Dhanush-  Dhanush delivers a heart rendering performance that is invariably the biggest positive of the film. The main reason why you should watch this film.

•Romance with its many emotions or not just clichéd cinematic emotions is given prominence.

•The lead cast compliment eachother. 

•The film captures the spirit of Beneras and this spirit is the soul of this love story.

•It also delves into the spirit of the times that we live in, drawing references to many real life instances and events. 

 

Negatives-

• Come the second half, this film does lag but just manages to brush away from the second half syndrome.

•There is a bit of mushy emotional melodrama.

•The story line does get hazy at times with two many reference but is clutched by performaces.
