JEE form submission date extended to Dec 24

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for JEE form submission to the 24th of December. This after the board had initially announced that there would be change or extension in the last date for registration.  The early deadline set for the submission of forms was the 15th December. The extension of the dates for registration was announced by the board on its official website. The CBSE in an official statement affirmed the move, keeping in mind those students who are unable to fill the application form before the designated date. The examination is scheduled for the 7th April, 2013. 

The board stated that till the 15 December as many as 12.82 lakhs aspirants had enrolled for this year’s examination making  it the largest pool for students wishing to pursue engineering. Now with the extension of the date more registrations are expected, said an official of the board.  JEE or the Joint Engineering Examination (Main) recently replaced the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE).The IIT JEE that is the entrance examination for engineering aspirants  to the India Institute of Technology (IIT ) has been replaced by JEE (advanced). Candidates will be admitted to centrally  funded  institutes on the basis of a merit list. This compiled merit list gives 40 % weight age to the class 12 score while 60 % weight age is given to the scores obtained in JEE (Main) examination. Based on the JEE (Mains) 1,50,000 candidates would be selected to appear for the advanced examination to be held on 02 June,2013. The (Advance) JEE examination would be organized by IIT's of Kanpur, Delhi, Mumbai, Roorkee, Guhawati, Kharagpur and Kozhikode.
