Four Australian players axed from Mohali testFour Australian players have been axed from Mohali test in the ongoing India v/s Australia series on disciplinary grounds. Vice Captain Shane Watson along with other players James Pattinson, Mitchell Johnson and Usman Khawaja have been dropped from the crucial make or break third test against India after failing to make presentations in a team meeting as instructed by the management. Head Coach Mickey Arthur made the official announcement of the same on Monday. As per reports published in a leading Australian daily the following players did not write a presentation assigned to the team on how they could improve and prepare in a better manner against India. The Aussies had lost the last test at Hyderabad by an innings and a 135 runs. Barring the four the other twelve players submitted their assignments on time. Arthur then summoned the players together along with skipper Michael Clarke and manager Gavin Dovey.
When the players failed to give a valid explanation of why they did not complete their assignment they were told that they would not be played in the next test.
In an official Cricket Australia Press release Australian coach Mickey Arthur said, “We pride ourselves on attitude. We have given the players a huge amount of latitude to get attitude and culture right. We believe that those behaviors were not consistent with what we want to do with this particular team. The teams that are the best in the world have attitude the best behavior patterns and good hard ruthless culture.
