17.23 crore project to develop Colva coastal stripWith an intention of putting in place better facilitates and infrastructure aimed at providing an holistic tourist experience Goa tourism has decided to take up Rs 17.23 crore project to develop Colva coastal strip. Tenders for the projects have already been floated. The project aims to cover the beaches of Colva Gonsua, Betalbatim and Benaulim beaches in South Goa which are popular both among foreign and international tourists. The tourism minister Dilip Parulekar said “All South Goa beaches are internationally famous and attract a lot of tourists. Considering the present scenario, these areas demand development, upgradation and a facelift, which can help accommodate more tourists and provide better facilities to them that will help boost tourism in South Goa.” He said that the other infrastructure projects implemented along the beaches of South Goa would help in creating and improving key facilties like parking, toilets, seating arrangements, changing rooms, and would beautify the existing area with gardens and facilities for children to play.
