• The film is inspiring and riveting and does draw importance to hardwork and perseverance. 
• Farhan Akhtar delivers a career performance that is one of the biggest positives of the film. 
• Not to forget his dialogue delivery and sheer mean physique. (He doesn't act, he lives out the role). 
• Shankar- Ehsaan- Loy's inspiring music lifts the film and is another positive.
• Well intentioned theme that tries to point out that human effort can acheive the impossible, provided there is a will to look beyond the past.
• Parts of the film like the training at Ladakh after the Melbourne Olympics loss is a cinematic delight and proof of Akhtar's strong dedication.

• Long Runtime that follows a snail's pace. (Wish the editor and maker of the film had made the effort to make it more crisp).
• At times the film does seem dramatized and over exaggerated to fit the commercial tag.
• Never has background music and slow motion effect been so abused in a film.(400 meter run seems to be a cross country race). 
• As mentioned the efforts put in the movie does seems drowned by a script that tries to convey much or offer more themes.
