Located at Chandigarh in Maharaja Surve Road, The Government Museum and Art Gallery has the following sections other than the Gallery itself:- The National History Museum, The National Gallery of Portraits, The Chandigarh Architecture Museum each with further sections. It is led by curator and director N.P.S. Randhawa and the Museum Advisory Committee. The museum/art gallery exhibits over 10,000 artworks mostly comprising Indian artwork such as sculptures and paintings. The attached Reference library houses approximately 10,000 books and documentaries. There is also a cafeteria within the premises of this Musuem. Except on sundays and on public holidays, it is opened on all days between 10am to 6pm.
