United Breweries (UBL) incorporated in 1999, is a flagship company of UB Group. The company is engaged in manufacturing and marketing of beer. UBL started its journey in 1915, when Thomas Leishman purchased 5 breweries to form United Breweries with its registered office located at Chennai. Much later late Vittal Mallya bought the company in 1947. Today 6 bottles of Kingfisher are sold every second in India. United Breweries is India's largest producer of beer with a market share of around 48% by volume.
