Simplex Castings Limited was incorporated in 1970. It is engaged in the manufacturing of heavy engineering castings in various grades for all industrial sectors, such as steel plants, power plants, railways, mines, cement, chemical, oil, defense, sugar, earth moving, machine tools, heavy valves and ship building. Its principal products include ingot moulds, alloy steel ingots and parts of industrial furnaces and ovens-door bodies. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2010 (fiscal 2010), the Company has installed grid blasting machine, pipe blending machine and saw welding machine. The Company’s plants are located in Durg and Raipur in Chhattisgarh. During fiscal 2010, the Company’s Bhilai plant produced 8,485 million tons of cast iron castings and components, 616 million tons of fabricated equipments.
