Petronet LNG Limited was founded in 1997 and involves India`s leading oil and natural gas industry players. The company is involved in the business of import and degasification of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and supplies to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), GAIL (India) Limited (GAIL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and others. As of March 31, 2012, PLL owned and operated LNG Regasification Terminal with the name plate capacity of 10 million metric ton per annum at Dahej, in the State of Gujarat. The Company’s promoters are GAIL, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), IOCL and BPCL. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012 (fiscal 2012), Dahej terminal handled 172 cargoes. The terminal supplied 548 trillion British thermal units regasified LNG during fiscal 2012. The Company sources LNG under long term contract from Ras Gas of Qatar and sells regasified LNG mainly to three intermediate off takers, namely GAIL (India) Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
