Orient Paper and Industries was established in 1939 and is a paper and paper crafts manufacturer in Amlai (Madhya Pradesh) and Brajarajnagar (Orissa). It is one of the most efficient paper mills in the area and has been associated with paper manufacture in Africa. The mill is part of Orient Paper & Industries, which comprises the paper facility and manufactures of Portland cement and ceiling fans, and which itself is a subsidiary company of Birla Technical Services. The company employs most of the populace of that area. The Orient Paper Mill was also awarded the Golden Peacock Environment Management Award for 2006 by the World Environment Foundation (WEF).
