Marmagoa Steel was incorporated in 1987. It manufactures billets and rolled products from carbon steel, mild steel and spring steel. The products manufactured by the Company include spring leaves for automobile/railways, flanges connecting rods, axle shafts for automobile and engineering industry, high-tensile fasteners, link chain gears, and elastic rail clips and helical springs. The Company is a port-based steel plant having its own jetty for loading and unloading of sea transport vessels. The main product of the Company is spring steel flats, which is the key component for manufacture of leaf spring used in automobiles. The Company’s customers include Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Udyog, Canara Springs and Jamna Auto. Marmagoa Steel Limited reported sales of INR 1.61 billion (US$29.10 million) for the fiscal year ending March of 2012.
