JSW Energy Limited (JSWEL) is a subsidiary of the JSW Group. The company was incorporated in 1994. It has 995 MW of operational generating capacity and 2145 MW of generating capacity in the construction or implementation phase. The company has four power plants in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal. The company is also into equipment manufacturing by commencing construction facility for Supercritical Steam Turbine Generator sets at Chennai in a joint venture with Toshiba Corporation, Japan. The company also has ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001: 2004 and ISO 18001: 2007 certifications. JSW Energy was awarded NDTV Profit Business Leadership Award on 1st September 2010 in the industry vertical of “POWER” and also “Best Thermal Power Generation Company Award” at Power Line Award 2012 by Power Line Magazine in 2012.
