InterDigital, was incorporated in 1972, designs and develops advanced technologies, which enable wireless communications and monetizes such technologies through licensing and other revenue opportunities. The Company has designed and developed a range of products, which are used in digital cellular and wireless products and networks, including second generation (2G), third generation (3G), fourth generation (4G) and Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) 802-related products and networks. The Company offers licenses to its patents to equipment producers, which manufacture, use or sell digital cellular and IEEE 802-related products. In addition, it offers for license or sale its mobile broadband modem solutions (modem Internet protocol (IP), know-how, and reference platforms) to mobile device manufacturers, semiconductor companies, and other equipment producers, which manufactures, uses or sells digital cellular products. The Company competes with Apple, Google Incorporation and HTC.  Interdigital Inc Pa reported sales of $ 301.74 million for the year ending December of 2011.
