Housing Development and Infrastructure Limited was established in the year 1996. Its business activity comprises of construction and development of residential projects, commercial, retail and slum rehabilitation projects. It is also engaged in construction of special economic zone (SEZ). The company has established itself as one of India’s premier real estate development companies, with significant operations in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The company has till date completed more than 100 million sq.ft of construction in all verticals of real estate and has rehabilitated around 30,000 families in last one decade. The company has also bagged the prestigious Mumbai Airport Slum Rehabilitation Project to rehabilitate the slum dwellers located on 276 acres (1.12 km2) of Mumbai Airport land.
       HDIL launched an IPO in July 2007 and is currently listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
