ABC Paper is now Kauntum Papers and is in the business of production and marketing of wood free writing and printing paper thereby giving a right replacement of wood based paper while conserving precious resources & protecting the environment. Established as a division of Amrit Banaspati Company Limited in 1979-80 in an economically backward village namely Saila Khurd, Dist. Hoshiarpur, Punjab, was aimed to utilize wild vegetation viz. Sarkanda, Kahi etc. and the agro-residues such as wheat straw, rice straw which were at that time being burnt in the fields resulting in environmental pollution to make writing & printing paper. Initially, started with 30 TPD paper productions, the company has grown up as one of the top five agro-based paper mills in India. The company employs approximately 700 people with annual sales turnover of 1600 Million INR. Kauntum Papers Ltd employs approximately 1250 people, and the annual sales turnover touches 4000 million INR, which is likely to go up to 5000 million INR by next year.
